COUNTER POACHING RANGERS

TRAINING COURSES

It is a pleasure for SanWild to announce our first counter poaching rangers training courses that will be presented in conjunction with the Wildlife Protection Academy.

Course Dates for 2010:

  • 10 September – 22 October 2010

  • 1 November – 13 December 2010

  • Course duration 6 weeks

Price: (Fully inclusive of all meals and accommodation) = R 17 800.00 per person. A non-refundable deposit of R2500 is payable with your enrolment and the balance is payable 4 weeks prior to arrival. Kindly please note that a limited number of recruits will be accepted for each course.

On completion of your training, successful recruits will be considered for a further 6 months deployment in the SanWild Wildlife Sanctuary where food and (barrack style) accommodation will be supplied at no cost to allow qualified rangers to gain field and implementation experience by working as part of an active counter poaching rangers team protecting the wildlife of the SanWild Wildlife Sanctuary.

Qualified rangers that have completed their optional 6 months deployment in the SanWild Wildlife Sanctuary on a volunteer basis will be considered for full time employment in a crack SanWild professional counter poaching unit that will work for provincial, national or private reserves on the contractual basis.

Please find a full curriculum available here. Interested parties should immediately email lizel@sanwild.org for more information or to book your place on this very exciting course. After the course completion you may very well decide on a major career change to help protect Africa’s wildlife that is under increasing attack by poaching syndicates.

Your FGASA accreditation will give you a professionally recognized qualification that could be used when applying for employment in the field of counter poaching.

Kind regards
