2 rhino killed on farm

Johannesburg - A rhino and her calf were found shot dead and
stripped of their horns on a farm near Mookgophong (Naboomspruit)
by the Limpopo police's stock theft unit, Beeld reported on
Monday.
The four-month-old calf also had its toenails pulled out. They
were killed with hunting rifles and found this weekend.
Police also arrested the farm's 60-year-old owner and a worker
on Saturday after unlicensed firearms, a pistol and hunting
rifles, as well as 1944 rounds of ammunition, were found.
They were released on bail of R25 000 and expected to appear in
court on Tuesday.
Police were investigating separate cases of possession of
illegal firearms and rhino poaching.
A total of 140 rhino have been killed since the start of the
year.
