Poachers kill rhino, hurt calf

Johannesburg - A white rhino was killed and dehorned and her calf shot and injured, on a private game farm in Hoedspruit, Limpopo police said on Monday.

The carcass was found on Monday morning when workers were patrolling the game farm, said Lieutenant Colonel Ronel Otto.

The rhino cow was shot and her horn was removed.

Otto said the 4-month-old calf fled from the scene and farm workers and the police were tracing it.

No arrests were made.
