Pregnant rhino cow killed, dehorned

Johannesburg - A rhino was found dead and dehorned in Brits on Tuesday, North West police said.

Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said the rhino cow had been pregnant.

"The rhino was found dead this morning with only one horn, the other horn was cut off...," he said.

It was suspected the rhino was shot from a helicopter, flying over land in Buffelsdrive.

While the search was on for suspected poachers, a baby rhino that went missing on the farm a few weeks back was also found dead, he said.

The landowner and the police were searching for the poachers using a helicopter.
