Their diaries are not edited and gives a word for word account on how they experience our sanctuary and wild animal rescues. Emails to our volunteers can be sent to volunteers@sanwild.org We have only put the last five volunteers of 2007 on the site and will be adding the new volunteers as they leave. |

Steve Port Hi, I am Steve from England.
It is almost 3 years since I was here before so I am looking forward to
seeing what has changed, meeting some old friends and of course and seeing
the elephants. |

Susanne Maurer My name is Susanne and I'm
from Zurich, Switzerland. This is my 5th stay at SanWild and I'm so happy to
be back! This time is also very special for me because I'm seeing Miller and
Steve again, two "old volunteers" whom I met two years ago. I'm looking
forward to three wonderful weeks! |

Whitney Miller My name is Miller, and I’m from Austin, Texas. For over twenty years I have worked in the movie industry, handling the financial aspects of filming and post-production. It’s given me the opportunity to work all around America. However, what I really enjoy is travelling internationally, and my entire life I have dreamed of working in Africa with animals. When I heard about the SanWild volunteer program, it seemed the answer to that dream. Now that I am here at the Sanctuary, I’m already finding it to be even better that I could have imagined. I’m thrilled to think that I have two months for the animals to teach me about themselves and, hopefully, for me to help better their lives in some way. |

Barbara Murphy I'm Barbara Murphy from
Andover, Massachusetts and I just retired in September after 31 years with
The Gillette Company. I came to Africa two years ago on safari for two weeks
and I fell in love with the country, the people and the animals. So I am
very excited to be here and can already tell it's going to be quite an
experience. |
