Cheetah: Injured eye

by Louise Joubert

Be the RightKind for WildKind

It has been just over a year since the cheetah brothers made their first successful kill after being released back to the wild in September 2011.

They have been doing exceptionally well up until now. Earlier today one of the males was observed with an injured eye that is possibly the result of being hooked by a thorn or branch.

We will closely monitor the situation and hope that he will recover without any intervention. Our veterinarian feels that it is still early days and that there is no need right now for intervention. Should the injury get worse we will have to act.
